Restaurant Schlosskeller in Giessen

The food is delicious and the ambience is very cozy (if Corona doesn't prevent you from eating directly in the restaurant).

We were there with a group of 10 and stayed in the cozy vaulted cellar. The food is fantastic, the meat is fried to the point, the sauces are delicious. Salad very tasty. Everything was freshly made and of good quality. The ladies in the service are very competent and friendly.

The dishes taste fantastic. The price-performance ratio is very consistent and the service is also very friendly.

The castle cellar is one of the best restaurants in Giessen. The dishes are freshly prepared. The menu includes seasonal dishes. Very friendly service.

Price-performance consistent. Food well prepared in terms of taste and appearance. Service polite and courteous. Reservations in the outdoor area are strongly recommended. The outdoor area is park-like and pleasantly shaded even at high temperatures and is recommended.

Really good food, fusion of German and others making it lighter, healthier and really good quality. Highly recommended and good value.

Had an exam party there. Food was pre-ordered for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. It all tasted excellent. The waitresses were very accommodating and the ambience was perfect for a special occasion.

Unfortunately for reservations per person 15 € will be charged in advance. I do not find this adjusted, especially since an 8th person who could not participate in the illness was not reimbursed the amount. We will probably no longer engage in such practices, although I can understand an adjusted deposit with later settlement on the part of the catering trade. Otherwise everything was accommodating and friendly, the food was good, but when we paid we had to separate our items individually.

Great food, great service, nice ambiance! Price-performance also fits. A bit more expensive, but the food is worth the portions are a good size.

Always happy to - I am now and then in Gießen and as a native of Badner, the castle cellar is one of my favorite points of contact, if I do not just "eat" in an upscale ambience, but "dine" would like.

Excellent from any point of view

Very good food. One of the few restaurants in the city center with an atmosphere which can be romantic. Reservations are not usually required to eat there, but to get booth seating.

The details (design of the dining and Aperetivkarte) could be a bit better, but the food is very good and the service friendly and helpful.

In summer with a romantic beer garden, nice service and culinary dishes. A real oasis in the green and in the middle of the city!

We were in the castle cellar for the first time last night. We didn't reserve, but there was enough space. The food came quickly and was very delicious and fresh. Very attentive nice staff, special requests were catered for, very cozy and quiet atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. :)
